Why Visit Calpe?
Calpe can be found at the heart of Costa Blanca. Once an ancient fishing village, it is now a popular tourist destination due to its year-round Mediterranean climate and its beautiful beaches. The region is well-known for its stunning rocky headland, which provides a beautiful view while sunbathing on the beach.
The numerous beaches are one of the resorts main highlights, but there is much more to see and do while on your holiday here. Take in the historic attractions of Banos de La Reina, an ancient Roman fish farm of which the ruins can be still seen today; take a walk through medieval times and explore the ruins at La Pobla D’Ifac, where a medieval walled village once stood; or venture into the old town of Calpe and admire the striking gothic churches.
Calpe is a great holiday destination for families due to its shallow water beaches which offer various water sport activities to take part in. There are also waterparks & theme parks nearby that kids will enjoy. Couples will also love a holiday in Calpe, as it offers a chance to relax while soaking up the sun on the beach as well as plenty of activities like exploring the rich history and culture that the region has to offer.
Direct flights to Alicante go from Dublin, Cork and Shannon on a regular basis. From Alicante airport, Calpe is an estimated 90-minute drive away and travellers can avail of private and public transfers as well as car hire.
