Best Time to Go

The weather is almost always cold in Iceland, with summer temperatures only peaking at 15 degrees, so make sure to bring warm clothes! Peak season is during July and August when the weather is mild and there are 16-20 hours of daylight. If you’re hoping to see the Northern Lights, then go in the winter as there’s a higher chance of you experiencing this phenomenon.

Getting around

There are direct flights from Dublin to Keflavík International airport all year round with a fight time of only 2.5 hours. The city centre is around 50 kilometres from the airport, and you can get there by hiring a car or getting a transfer. There are several ways of getting around: a car rental, taxis, buses, and scheduled coaches to main attractions. There is also the Reykjavik City Card which gives you unlimited travel on the buses for up to 72 hours.
